dreamcastmoe — the singer and producer formerly known as Dreamcast — has earned himself a reputation as one of D.C.'s most promising rising stars over the past two years, with two full-length installments of his Lost Tapes series and a smattering of collaborative loosies showcasing his smooth falsetto and deft use of funk beats. His next release, the Lamont EP — due out in early October via Real Life — looks certain to cement his position as one of the DMV's brightest voices, its four tracks drifting in and out of soul, R&B, and electronica, all held together by Moe's lush vocals. The first single from the project is "301-341-7207," premiering above with a video directed by Patrick Elmore, which hangs around for just a little over two minutes but still encapsulates the effortlessness with which the young artist mashes styles together. "‘301’ is about moving in a fluid space — it’s not just romantic love but it’s about family, and it’s about moving on from another difficult situation which is a little different to the rest of the EP," Moe says of the song in a statement. "It’s all about getting through what you’re going through. From point A to point B."
