Shoot for the Stars Aim for the Moon dropped on July 3 and was streamed a total of 268 million times in its first week of release. In total the album sold 251,000 equivalent album units with the large streaming figures boosted by physical sales and merchandise bundles. The 251,000 figures makes the album the sixth biggest opening of 2020. Only The Weeknd, BTS, Lil Uzi Vert, Eminem, and Lady Gaga have achieved a higher figure so far this year.

Pop Smoke was shot and killed on February 19, age 20, during a home invasion in the Hollywood Hills. Last week five people were arrested in connection with the rapper's murder. Read The FADER's memorial to the fallen N.Y.C. rapper here.
