On Monday, Chance The Rapper offered his thoughts on fellow Chicago rapper Kanye West's controversial, possibly fake 2020 presidential bid against President Donald Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden. In response to West's Twitter post sharing a new song and video called "DONDA" (named for West's late mother), Chance tweeted: "And yall out here tryna convince me to vote for Biden. Smfh." See his tweet below:
Chance further expanded on his comments, suggesting they were a criticism of America's political process. "Are we pro two-party system?" He then challenged followers to "explain why Joe Biden would be better than Trump."
Are we pro two-party system?

Are u more pro biden or anti ye and why? I get that you’ll want to reply that you’re just tryna “get trump out” but in this hypothetical scenario where you’re replacing Trump, can someone explain why Joe Biden would be better??

"I finally got the answer now," Chance went on to write. "Yall trust Biden more than yall trust Ye. I think I understand why, I just don’t feel the same way.

It is unclear whether Chance's "trust" stems from his frequent musical collaborations with West, or if he agrees with West's agenda. West's political proclamations have included dangerous anti-abortion rhetoric, conspiracy theories about vaccines, and of course, near-unwavering support for Donald Trump throughout most of his presidency. In a recent interview with Forbes, West said that Trump's coronovirus response contributed to him rescinding his support.
Kanye West still hasn't filed paperwork to run for president. In the Forbes interview, West suggested that he would be content if his presidential campaign drained votes from Joe Biden's campaign. "I'm not denying; I just told you. To say that the Black vote is Democratic is a form of racism and white supremacy."
Chance The Rapper and Kanye West's political lives have intersected before. In 2018, West donated $73,540 to the Chicago mayoral campaign of Amara Enyia follwoing Chance The Rapper's endorsement. She placed sixth in the general election.
