Pat Lok searched deep within his heritage by traveling to Singapore before coming up with his latest project Gone Is Yesterday. After visiting, he was inspired to come up with an adventure-style RPG game where he and his dog battle EDM (Eternal Demon Monster) to eventually go back to his Los Angeles home. He simultaneously drew from sampled percussion and melodic inspirations from East Asia for the five-track soul infused house EP that accompanies the video.

"Intertwining Chinese folklore and RPG video game influences, this project is an homage to an epic tale with unforgettable characters, and my late grandfather who introduced them to me," Lok told The FADER in a statement.

Pat Lok will also be going live on his Twitch today at noon EST to discuss the video and the EP.
