Since its inception in 2016, HBO series Insecure has had its hand on the pulse of exciting music being made across multiple genres, sometimes even before the masses catch wind of it. That track record has continued through the years and has evolved into Raedio, a new label founded by Issa Rae and a joint venture with Atlantic Records. . Over the past few weeks, the new label has started to roll out tracks featured on the soundtrack for Insecure's fourth season, which premiered on Sunday, April 12th.
Today on The FADER, a new song from the soundtrack is being premiered, which is a smooth one by Chicago native singer Ravyn Lenae. The song, titled "Rewind," joins Lenae's smooth, comforting voice with instrumentation that begs for a vintage MTV Unplugged feature. “I appreciate the continuous love and support from Insecure and Issa Rae," Lenae stated in an email. "It’s an honor for my song ‘Rewind’ to be featured on a show where the music is so important to the storytelling.” Listen to the track below.
