The debut single "SMABTO" (an acronym for "some mistakes are better than others") is an interesting introduction to the group composed of Ann (vocals, sax, drums), Nat (guitar), and Tom (bass). The production from Ann sounds like what could be described as power jazz, with claps and frantic guitar picks, while the sax does a number of lines up and down the scale for a couple solos.

Ann sings about advice she received about acting cool to get guys but now she's taking out the trash, including the guy who provided that potentially dangerous tip. Her voice is filled with a cool confidence and the last remnants of nostalgia that she has on the matter. She's ready to move on.

In an email, they described the lighthearted nature of the song: "Relationships are complicated and messy, but sometimes they're just straight up mistakes. This isn’t a serious song about love, but more a lighthearted take on the people that come into our lives and turn out to be mistakes.”
