Watch J Hus’s video for new song “Spang DVD Freestyle”
On Tuesday evening, the London superstar dropped what seems to be the start of a new freestyle series, which promotes his new apparel line.
Last week, British superstar rapper J Hus began rolling out a campaign for a new apparel line called The Ugliest — a play on his personal IG handle, @theuglygram. On its website, the line's new collection includes tees, track pants, and bubble trench coats. When the line was announced, a two minute-long promotional video, which featured a medley of songs from Hus's sophomore album, Big Conspiracy, was uploaded to a YouTube channel titled Spangers Tele.
Today, a second video was posted to the channel, except this time it wasn't explicitly promoting The Ugliest — though Hus and friends are wearing pieces from the line. The new video is titled "Spang DVD Freestyle EP 01" and features Hus rapping over the celebrated "Dark Again" dancehall riddim from 2007. In it, J Hus flows effortlessly about being superior to adversaries and his flaw-proof reputation. If you're already a fan of the London star's output, then this is right up your alley. And while the majority of the world is under quarantine, the prospect of a new freestyle series from one of The U.K.'s most exciting artists is something worth our collective joy. Watch the freestyle above.
