24-year-old Chicago firebrand Tink has had a great couple of years: on Valentine’s Day of this year, she released her debut album Hopeless Romantic, which charted on the Billboard 200, and last year she continued her string of hugely listenable mixtapes with Voicemails. Hopeless Romantic puts Tink in the role she was born to play: that of the brazen, smooth-voiced seductress, an MC who can sing a chilly trap ballad as well as she can rap over a song that features bed springs as a core part of its beat.
In keeping with the theme of Hopeless Romantic, Tink’s FADER Top 5 finds the rapper sharing her top five albums for romancing. Hopeless Romantic doesn’t make the cut, which may be an oversight — but Tink’s top five will still provide a perfect soundtrack to your next date night.
