For the better part of the last decade, New York-born rapper and producer Bishop Nehru has been a stylish and slippery linchpin of underground rap, constantly finding new ways to explore and reframe his partnership with MF DOOM and collaborating with figures as disparate as Kaytranada and Flight Facilities. Now, the young MC is preparing to release Nehruvia: My Disregarded Thoughts, an important statement of artistic freedom that Nehru has been conceptualizing since his early teen years.
Today, The FADER is premiering the video for lead single “Too Lost,” a vibrant and compulsively listenable DJ Premier collaboration that speaks to where Nehru is as an artist right now. "As far as the video goes, I wanted to show people just a nice story of the song. Hopefully people can figure it out but it’s me talking to two versions of myself,” Nehru tells The FADER of the video via email. "If you listen to the lyrics you can hear which versions, but that was the main motivation for the visual. It’s mainly about being in your head and reflecting in your thoughts.”
