The release date for Daniel Hernandez, the rapper known as 6ix9ine, has been set, according to a report in Complex. The rapper will be released from prison on August 2, 2020, which matches a search on the Federal Bureau of Prisons website.
Hernandez conquered rap with hits like "Gummo" before taking the stand as a witness in the federal case against the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods, a New York City gang Hernandez became affiliated with as his star grew. Hernandez's testimony against Anthony "Harv" Ellison and Aljermiah "Nuke" Mack was key in securing racketeering and weapons convictions against both men. Hernandez pled guilty to racketeering and firearms charges in January 2018 and was sentenced to 24 months in prison last December.
Upon Hernandez's release, he'll have a $10 million record deal for two albums waiting for him. However, he may still have to keep working with federal authorities as he attempts to salvage his rap career.
