Hear the Dixie Chicks’ first new song in 14 years, “Gaslighter”

It's taken 14 years, but the Dixie Chicks are back with their first new material since 2006's critically-lauded Taking The Long Way. After quite a bit of teasing on social media, today, Natalie Maines, Martie Maguire, and Emily Robison shared the title track to their new album, Gaslighter. It's a true-to-form anthemic cut that — for better or worse — is bound to scratch the itch of #resistance Twitter going into the 2020 presidential election. Hear it in full above.

"Gaslighter," and the entirety of the new album, was produced by Jack Antonoff. "We thought we thought we were gonna write with a bunch of different people and get different producers," Maines told Zane Lowe in a Beats 1 interview. "We wrote with him and we’re like, 'He needs to produce it and this needs to be the sound for this album.' Cause it was just, he blew us away, and it was such a fun song to start with."

Gaslighter is due May 1 via Columbia Records.
