Trippie Redd claims first No. 1 album with A Love Letter To You 4
It’s Trippie’s fourth consecutive top ten set.
Trippie Redd’s latest record A Love Letter To You 4 has debuted at No. 1 on this week’s edition of the Billboard 200 albums chart, beating out strong competition from Coldplay, Jason Aldean, and the Frozen 2 soundtrack, which all reached the top 10 this week. A Love Letter To You 4 is Trippie’s fourth top ten record, following this year’s !, which peaked at No. 3; A Love Letter To You 3, which peaked at No. 3 around this time last year; and August 2018’s Life’s A Trip. Unlike many No. 1 records of late, A Love Letter To You 4 was not bolstered hugely by album/merchandise bundles; instead, the vast majority of its consumption came from pure streaming.
Trippie’s strongest competition came from Aldean, who debuted at No. 2 with 83,000 equivalent units to Trippie’s 104,000 equivalent units. Coldplay debuted at No. 7 on the hart with their double record Everyday Life, which garnered 48,000 units. Find the full tallies and more information about chart moves at Billboard.
