Jamaican artist Koffee secured a 2019 Grammy nomination for Best Reggae Album (Rapture) as well as the attention of a music industry drawn to the 19-year-old's preternatural songwriting talents — even Rihanna's rumored to have enlisted Koffee to work on her next project. If Koffee has seemed on the precipice of mainstream domination for a minute now, her latest song "W" might be enough to push her over the edge.
The track contains a verse from solid gold feature artist Gunna, and it's the kind of polished reggae-pop-rap song that reliably dominates the charts — except it's actually good. In the music video, streaming above, Koffee and Gunna brave a storm in Jamaica that turns out to be more blessing than a bane.
"'W' is all about encouraging people to focus on the Wins and not the Losses," Koffee said in a press statement, "to not forget to live their best life and to always remember to give thanks." Listen to "W" below on Apple Music.
