A new album from the electronic musician Squarepusher is on its way, as Pitchfork notes. It comes out on Warp records on January 31st, and will be called Be Up a Hello. It is Tom Jenkinson’s first release under the Squarepusher banner since 2015, when he released the peppy Damogen Furies. Accompanying the album announcement, Jenkinson has released the song “Vortrack,” and his own “Fracture Remix” of it. According to publicity materials, the forthcoming record will bring a “return to using a bewildering array of vintage analogue and digital hardware, the same equipment that first helped him develop his sound in the early '90s,” and “gives a nod to the mayhem, joyousness and abandon of the DIY Essex rave scene that was a strong determinant in Tom Jenkinson's work.”
