The nominations for the 2020 Grammy Awards were announced on Wednesday morning. This year's nominees include multiple nods for Lizzo, Lil Nas X and Billie Eilish, all of whom have never been nominated before.
Lizzo leads the line with eight nominations in total. She is up for every major award at the Grammys, including album of the year for Cuz I Love You, record and song of the year for “Truth Hurts,” and best new artist.
Lil Nas X and Billie Eilish both follow in her wake with six nominations each. Eilish’s When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? is up for album of the year while “Bad Guy" will contend in both record and song of the year. Lil Nas X, meanwhile, was nominated for record of the year for “Old Town Road” and album of the year for 7, an eight-song EP released this summer. Both artists will also compete for Best New Artist alongside Rosalía, Black Pumas, Maggie Rogers, Tank And The Bangas, and Yola.
Other big name nominees include Lana Del Rey, Beyonce, Taylor Swift, Vampire Weekend, J. Cole, Tyler, The Creator, Ariana Grande, and Ed Sheeran.
