Instead of jumping out of the Fyre and into the frying pan, Ja Rule now appears to be in the clear. A judge last week dismissed the appeal of an $100 million class action lawsuit filed against the rapper (whose legal name is Jeffrey Atkins) by Fyre Festival attendees, Complex reports. In recent weeks, another judge had ruled that Ja Rule was ignorant of the festival’s misconduct—and thus not liable for it, but the plaintiffs had filed an appeal. The lawsuit against Fyre Festival co-founder Billy McFarland and others involved in the ill-fated festival will continue without Ja Rule as a defendant. “This ruling is nothing short of a total vindication of Mr. Atkins,” Ja Rule’s lawyer told Complex.
