Knxwledge has released his seventh project of the year, WT_PRT15.. The mixtape came out via bandcamp today. If this release is evidence of anything, it’s that the L.A.-based producer is showing no signs of slowing down — another project, HX.PRT_13.8, is slated for a December 8 drop.
WT_PRT15. has the Stones Throw artist flipping rap tracks with his sample-heavy blend of jazz and soul production. There’s something on the project for every generation of hip-hop fan, from a drumless remix of UGK’s “Int’l Players Anthem” that makes the record feel suspended in air, to an acoustic guitar-strummed rendition of Young Thug’s “Surf,” which sounds like it was specifically made to serve as background music for weddings. Listen to the album below, and check out our 2015 interview with the beat-maker here.
