In the latest installment of The FADER’s Top Five, rapper and producer Barrington DeVaughn Hendricks, also known as JPEGMAFIA, lists his top five white people. Placing at number five is Jim Carrey, “a solid white man” according to Hendricks, though nothing compared to Disney Channel’s own Hilary Duff. “She’s so white, but it doesn’t bother me at all,” explains Hendricks as he geeks through her catalogue: “Lizzie McGuire: fire. ‘So Yesterday’ — fire.” Whether or not he would rap on one of her songs though, Hendricks confesses, “depends on the money.”
When it comes to the number two spot, Hendricks knows what the audience is thinking: “Batman is a cartoon,” he says, but he justifies picking the “trust fund kid” who “probably goes to Trump parties” by saying he “respects the fact that Batman, the real person who Batman is, is actually Batman.” As Hendricks then flashes his Batman tattoo, he lets slip: “Batman for life.”
