Nigerian-Canadian artist TOBi tackles changing scenarios and motivations on new song "Faces." Over a vibey beat from Frank Ocean-collaborator Sango and Wax Roof, TOBi spills his paranoid thoughts about meeting strangers and pondering what they want from him as his fame and notoriety rises. He wonders aloud if people see him as "a rapper, a singer, a hero, a villain, a healer, a killer" while projecting that his demise is being waited on.
Speaking to The FADER about his latest collaboration, TOBi said: “When Sango sent me the beat, the words immediately manifested naturally and effortlessly because it was exactly what was on my mind. I walk into so many different rooms and spaces that I’ve learned to deal with the unfamiliar faces by keeping myself grounded regardless of who I’m in front of.”
"Faces" is the latest release from TOBi following his debut album STILL, which dropped in May. Check the new tune out below.
