T.I. gave more thoughts on his former protege Iggy Azalea this week during an appearance on The Breakfast Club. The latest interview came after T.I. provoked a biting response from Azalea when he called the rapper a "blunder" and "the tarnish of my legacy."
T.I. clarified that while he didn't mean to "speak down" on Azalea, he was speaking "his truth" on the matter."I feel like she was meant to be great," T.I. says in the video at 22:20, streaming above via Complex. "As far as I'm concerned, I feel like when she found out white people liked her and she didn't really need black people to like her anymore, she switched up, started acting different, made moves that I wasn't proud of, that kind of placed my reputation in the line of fire. And she was very arrogant about it.
Later, T.I. attempted to compliment Azalea's pen, but ended up implying that she had ghostwriters. "The raps were dope at first," he says, adding "Of course, she had...help," after some prodding from Charlamagne. He also credited Azalea's overexposure on social media for leading to a deterioration of their business relationship. "It could have been so [much] bigger," T.I. said of their collaboration.
