The Shade Room has dropped a new interview with Nicki Minaj in which the supposedly-retired rapper discusses her relationship with new boyfriend Kenneth Petty, whether they’ll tie the knot soon, and if her retirement is for real. In short: there's still very little clarity as to whether she is or isn't retiring!

“When I posted that retirement tweet, I knew that I still had music that I already had recorded that was still gonna come out, so the retirement was kinda talking about [whether] I wanna go back and record my fifth album,” Minaj tells TSR in the interview. “I always get asked to do features and I like features. So it was really about my fifth album.”

“Where do I stand with it now? I didn’t know my fans were gonna act like that with the tweet, and it hurt my feelings because it felt like the way I did it was insensitive to my fans,” she continues. “I didn’t know it was gonna be that big of a deal, so that’s why I deleted it.”

In another portion of the interview, Minaj inexplicably begins talking about who she’d like to have on an upcoming record if it were to be released. “I just recently collaborated with DaBaby, so he gotta return the favor. I love Gunna. If there is an album, there’s gonna be way more than that. If there is an album,” she says, “It was also dope working with Megan [Thee Stallion] as well, that’s just in terms of rap. I like to experiment with different genres, so there would be — if there is an album — there would be other surprises.” Listen to the full interview, cryptic statements and all, below.

Earlier this year, Minaj shocked fans by tweeting that she was retiring in order to focus on having a family, a statement that directly contradicted the rapper’s announcement that she had a new project coming soon with a “dope” executive producer attached. Since the announcement of her retirement, Minaj has appeared on songs by PnB Rock and DaBaby, and has been announced to appear with Normani and Ariana Grande on the new Charlie’s Angels soundtrack.
