Lana Del Rey is currently embarking on a tour through her greatest love — California — and, naturally, she’s making an event of it. As Pitchfork points out, at last night’s show in Berkeley, Del Rey brought out Joan Baez, one of the most obvious and significant influences on her latest record Norman Fucking Rockwell!, to duet on the classic “Diamonds & Rust,” the title track of Baez’ 1975 album of the same name. Later, Baez performed a solo rendition of Bob Dylan’s “Don’t Think Twice, It’s All Right.” The “Diamonds & Rust” cover isn’t the first time Del Rey has paid tribute to her forebears on this tour: in Seattle, she covered Joni Mitchell’s “For Free.” Watch footage of Del Rey in Berkeley below.

Earlier this year, Del Rey covered Ariana Grande’s “Break Up With Your Girlfriend, I’m Bored” in the BBC Live Lounge and released a collaboration with Grande and Miley Cyrus titled “Don’t Call Me Angel” for the Charlie’s Angels reboot. Her fifth studio album Norman Fucking Rockwell! was released in September. Read The FADER staff’s review of the record here, and read our explainer on Del Rey’s bizarre brilliance here.
