Last month, Gang Starr returned with their first single in 16 years, "Family and Loyalty." Though founding member Guru passed away back in 2010, DJ Premier and J. Cole keep his legacy alive on the single, which touches on generational impact. In its new video, they're joined by Guru's 19-year-old son Keith Casim, handing out diamonds to friends and family in Harlem.
"[Casim] made me feel like Guru was there with me," Premier wrote in a press release. "It was real important to me to have Guru's son be a major focus of the video. Keith is starting to really understand the legacy his father left behind and the whole team is sharing so many stories with him. We are honest with him, how much fun Guru and I had, the bad times, we are not sugarcoating anything; we want him to know his Father."
Though nothing has been confirmed, Premier has teased at the possibility of a new Gang Starr album on the duo's Instagram. Peep the preview below, and watch the "Family and Loyalty" video above.
