Lil Nas X says he’s taking a break from music
The young rapper tweeted he is ready to take “a little time off.”
After breaking records as the longest running No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with “Old Town Road,” Lil Nas X has hinted on Twitter that he’s ready to take a break from music, cancelling two upcoming shows in the process. "It's been a wild ast 7 months and I'm ready to take a little time off," he tweeted. "Sorry to everyone attending TwitchCon or the Sandbox Music Festival, I will not be there. I love you guys and will make it up to you some way."
Both of those shows were set for late September, but there’s no word on whether other future shows will be canceled as well.
“Old Town Road” spent 19 weeks on top of the Billboard 100 charts bolstered by remixes with Billy Ray Cyrus, Young Thug and Mason Ramsey and the single’s initial removal from Billboard’s country chart.
