To ring in her 27th birthday, Demi Lovato received a personal greeting from Will Ferrell in the form of a casting announcement for his upcoming Netflix comedy, Eurovision. Lovato will play Katiana who is described as “one of the best and most angelic singers in all of Iceland” according to Deadline. Eurovision is based on the real-life, global singing competition where participating countries submit an original song to be performed live. It was first broadcast in 1956 with some notable winners including ABBA (1974, representing Sweden) and Celine Dion (1988, representing Switzerland).
The film will star Rachel McAdams and Will Ferrell as two aspiring artists from Iceland. Information regarding an exact release date has not yet been released by Netflix. You can watch Ferrell’s announcement and birthday greeting below:
