Charli XCX's new album Charli is imminent, and though we've still got another month of waiting till it arrives in full, the pop ringleader has been keeping us well-fed with a string of fantastic singles. Next in the tracklist after her behemoth track with Christine and the Queens is "Cross You Out," a collaboration with Sky Ferreira. The thunderous breakup track, produced by Charli and A.G. Cook, is out tonight. Stream it below.
"[Sky is] unique and brilliant," Charli wrote on her Instagram regarding the song. "Even though the music we make separately is sonically quite different, I feel like we sort of came up together in some senses." This actually isn't the first time that the two have collaborated — back in 2012, they shared the cover of V Magazine with Grimes, in a photoshoot that involved "mice peeing on the Givenchy."
"Cross You Out" marks some of Ferreira's first material since her debut album, Night Time, My Time, released back in 2013. Earlier this spring, she dropped "Downhill Lullaby," the first single off her long anticipated sophomore record Masochism. Last month, she performed her first set in years at Pitchfork Festival in Chicago, where she debuted a new song, "Descending." Hear it below.
