It's 2019 and 50 Cent and Rick Ross are still going at it. The pair's decade-long beef recently returned when Ross suggested he would only jump on a track with 50 right now if he "still had value," adding that: "Not being funny, homie just ain’t that dude no more.”
Naturally, 50 Cent has not less the jab pass by without comment. Speaking to Complex, 50 questioned Ross's own contribution to the rap game right now. “I don’t know what his value is to music culture at this moment,” he said. “I never made music with him. I don’t have interest in making music with him.”
50 went on to suggest that artists including Rick Ross cozy up to genuinely popping acts in order to get by through assosication. “A lot of these guys, even when you make reference to music culture and stuff like that, they’re one-trick ponies, so they’re going to be gone,” he said. “In hip-hop, they say it’s not what have you done, what have you done for me lately, right? So you could get next to the guys that got momentum and try and survive based on that. But, it’s not a lot going on there.”
Next week sees the release of Rick Ross's new album Port of Miami 2. The album features appearances from Pusha-T, Lil Wayne, and Swizz Beatz, plus Drake on the recently-released "Gold Roses."
