2019 marks a whole 35 years since Rick Rubin and Russell Simmons initially founded Def Jam back in 1984. In celebration, the label is joining forces with PUMA to launch an anniversary collection. Over the next year, the pair will roll out an extensive line of merchandise, and this weekend, they're kicking it all off with new shoes, embroidered with the original Def Jam logo. “Since hip-hop’s early b-boy days, PUMA has been a staple in the culture - bringing freshness to the basketball court and style to the block party. We’re proud to celebrate Def Jam’s 35th anniversary in partnership with PUMA,” Def Jam CEO Paul Rosenberg wrote in a press statement. The Clyde Court sneakers will be sold in limited quantities at ComplexCon in Chicago this Sunday, and then in PUMA stores beginning August 28.
