The nominees for the 71st annual Emmy Awards have been announced. As perhaps expected, Game of Thrones led the pack with 32 nominations — setting a new record for the most nominations for a show in a single year. The acting nominations are packed with legacy talent, such as Mahershala Ali, Michelle Williams and Julia Louis-Dreyfus. Plenty of promising first-timers also scored nominations, including Jharrel Jerome for his performance in When They See Us, and Jodie Comer for her performance in Killing Eve.
Beyoncé's Homecoming special, which premiered on Netflix back in April, netted six nominations: Outstanding Variety Special (pre-recorded), Outstanding Directing (Beyoncé and Ed Burke), Outstanding Music Direction, Outstanding Writing for a Variety Special, Outstanding Production Design, and Outstanding Costumes. It's her fourth year being nominated, after collecting noms for her Super Bowl halftime performance, the On The Run tour special, and most recently, Lemonade.
