Trinidad-based Tano, Jimmy October & Brooklyn Decent’s “Pull Up” will get your summer right
This is what happens when Dancehall, Soca, and Afrobeats collide.
Blending genres to formulate the perfect summer bop is almost like a science, and always rewarding when done right. Singer-songwriters Jimmy October and Tano teamed up with producer Brooklyn Decent for the single "Pull Up", fusing the perfect amount of Dancehall, Soca, and Afrobeat in the playful track.
The song's building production and party-ready lyrics are nods to the trio's shared Trinidadian heritage, and definitely make the case for heavy rotation. "The good rum make you feel right/ Party shot til daylight," October sings on the track.
