Later this summer, rising singer-songwriters Hovvdy and Lomelda are heading out for a co-headlining tour around the Midwest. The 10-date run kicks off in Missouri this August, but ahead of that, they've cooked up a new joint EP for your listening pleasure. The project, aptly-titled Covers, features both acts covering the other. Particularly intriguing are Lomelda's submerged refraction of "Swing" and Hovvdy's saxophone-infused riff on "Out There."
Proceeds from the Covers EP, out today via Double Double Whammy, will benefit RAICES, a Texas-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit working to provide legal assistance to separated families, detained families, unaccompanied minors, and others seeking asylum in the United States.
