Clairo drops new single “Bags,” announces debut album IMMUNITY
The rising Boston artist has announced her Rostam co-produced debut album and dropped its warped, delicate lead single “Bags.”
Soundcloud pop auteur Clairo has announced her debut album IMMUNITY and dropped its lead single “Bags.” Co-produced by former Vampire Weekend producer and multi-instrumentalist Rostam, “Bags” is a delicate and delightfully weird taste of Clairo’s record; the gently strummed track builds to a peak augmented by warped guitars and piano.
“Bags” is a lovely direction for Clairo, and a departure from last year’s cleaner-sounding Diary 001 EP, which featured “Pretty Girl” and “Hello.” Per the album announcement, IMMUNITY is an exploration of “the artist’s growth as a young queer woman, straight out of college, who … focussed on what really mattered to her: making an incredible, cohesive body of work.” Listen to "Bags" above.
IMMUNITY is set to be released on August 2nd; ahead of that, Clairo will perform at Boston Calling, Governor’s Ball, and Primavera, in addition to her support slot for Khalid on his sold-out arena tour. Preorder IMMUNITY here and find tour dates here.
