PornHub is so, so close to buying Tumblr
The porn search site is “extremely interested” in acquiring the beleaguered microblogging platform, Buzzfeed reports.

Verizon has put Tumblr up for sale, after launching a much-condemned crackdown on nudity and adult content in December and subsequently failing to meet revenue targets. The wave of negative publicity and still-lingering hurt from the decision has led to PornHub expressing interest in purchasing Tumblr, according to a Buzzfeed report.
Pornhub VP Corey Price told Buzzfeed that, if successful, the acquisition would lead to a complete reversal of the anti-adult content changes. "Tumblr was a safe haven for those who wanted to explore and express their sexuality, adult entertainment aficionados included," Price said.
"We’ve long been dismayed that such measures were taken to eradicate erotic communities on the platform, leaving many individuals without an asylum through which they could comfortably peruse adult content."
After Tumblr implemented its blocks on pornography and adult content, the site saw a 30% drop in web traffic.
