Nipsey Hussle will be honored in his hometown of Los Angeles with an intersection of Slauson Avenue and Crenshaw Boulevard set to be named after him. The LA Times reoports that Councilmember Marqueece Harris-Dawson announced the news on Tueday after a petition backing the move topped 450,000 signatures in the wake of the rapper's death.
The intersection will reportedly become "Ermias 'Nipsey Hussle' Asghedom Square" on an undisclosed date.

Harris-Dawson said in a statement, “Nipsey’s genuine nature allowed him to be a light to everyone he interacted with from family, friends, fans, and his larger community. As a father, brother, and son, Nipsey was a rock helping to build an empire that will continue through generations. Nipsey will always be remembered for delivering a pure, authentic Los Angeles sound, his numerous philanthropic efforts, his innovative, community-focused business mindset, and his humble heart. ”
Nipsey's family will host a "Celebration of Life" on April 11 at the Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles.
Eric Holder, the man accused of shooting the rapper and injuring two others, has been charged with one count of murder and two counts of attempted murder. He pled not guilty during a court appearance on April 4.
