Meek Mill's "The Motivation Tour" rolled through Los Angeles on Thursday, and attendees were treated to a surprise performance from Meek's stalwart frenemy Drake. The two have made up recently – Meek's new album Championships features a Drake collab on the song "Going Bad" – and their improved relationship was reflected in one of Drake's traditionally flamboyant speeches he gives when he's on stage with another artist.
"I want everybody in Los Angeles to make some motherfucking noise for this man right here," Drake said to cheers before remarking "You definitely had the best comeback of all time. Real shit. That's my motherfuckin' brother right there, for real." He also encouraged the audience to embrace the spirit of the reconciliation, which came years after a string of insults and diss tracks. "This is what it's about. Sometimes you gotta come together and get it together... This is the goal, this is the objective. Now I'm back on stage with my brother getting money together."
Hip-hop was consumed with the "comeback" meme earlier this year thanks to Soulja Boy's viral appearance on The Breakfast Club. The "Crank Dat" rapper claimed he had a bigger comeback in 2018 than Meek Mill, and the hosts used Meek's "Going Bad" collab with Drake as evidence for the strength of Meek's return, Soulja gave the now-infamous response "Draaaaaake??"
