SPELLLING’s “Under The Sun” video is a gloriously disorienting ride
A psychedelic new visual from the Oakland artist.
Last week, SPELLLING (the project of Oakland avant-garde artist Tia Cabral) released her sophomore album Mazy Fly. One of the record's standout tracks is the enrapturing "Under the Sun." Cabral and director Catalina Xavlena made an equally transfixing visual for the track, which calls to mind the low-fi theatricality of Kate Bush's "Babooshka" video— if it took acid, smeared on clown makeup and drove into the desert. It's disorienting and wonderful. Check out the clip above.
