R. Kelly has reportedly posted bond, will be free to leave jail soon
The singer’s attorney had previously stated Kelly was having trouble securing the necessary funds.
R. Kelly will be released from the Cook County Jail "within the hour" after posting $100,000 bond, according to Sam Charles with The Chicago Sun-Times:
News of Kelly's impending release comes hours after his lawyer Steve Greenberg said the singer could not afford the required 10% of the $1 million bail, set on February 23. "He "really doesn't have any money at this point," Greenberg said before adding he was confident that the funds would be secured.
Kelly faces 10 charges of aggravated criminal sexual abuse against four victims between the ages of 13 and 16. He surrendered to authorities on February 22. He has pled not guilty to all charges.
