Travis Scott will join Maroon 5 during their halftime performance at Super Bowl LIII, according to a report in TMZ. The show will take place in Atlanta on February 3, 2019.
TMZ's sources also claim Maroon 5 are in discussions for guest appearances from artists like Big Boi and Cardi B, who collaborated with band on the song "Girl Like You." However, Cardi said in February that she would not perform at the event until the NFL rehires Colin Kaepernick, the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback who started the league's kneeling protests.
Rihanna reportedly declined to headline next year's halftime show in solidarity with Kaepernick, and tens of thousands of fans have signed a petition urging Maroon 5 to drop out of the show. According to a report in Variety, JAY-Z is attempting to dissuade Travis Scott from participating in the show.
Travis Scott's song "Sicko Mode" recently hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. He'll soon head out on the second leg of his Astroworld tour.
