Daniel Hernandez a.k.a.Tekashi 6ix9ine has pled not guilty to federal racketeering and weapons charges, Pitchfork and TMZ report. A spokesperson for the Department of Justice has told Pitchfork a pre-trail conference will take place on January 22, 2019 with a trial date set for September 4, 2019.
6ix9ine was arrested on November 19 along with five associates, including his former manager Kifano Jordan (Jordan and 6ix9ine's other co-defendants have also reportedly pled not guilty). The government's inditement charges the defendants with "[participating] in the operation and management of” the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods. Two of the weapons charges 6ix9ine faces carry a maximum sentence of life in prison.
At the time of his arrest 6ix9ine was serving four years of probation after pleading guilty in October 2015 to one count of use of a child in a sexual performance. Footage emerged last week of 6ix9ine allegedly discussing a hit on Chief Keef's cousin Tadoe days before Keef was shot at in New York.
Dummy Boy, 6ix9ine's new album was postponed indefinitely following his arrest, and leaked last weekend after his website mistakenly made the project available for purchase.
