New York City's Leikeli47, the hip-hop artist who caught eyes with her identity-concealing ski mask and ears with her experimental rap, is back with a new full-length project called Acrylic. The 19-song project is Leikeli47's second album and is split into a three-part chronicle around the process of getting one's nails did.
In a press release, Leikeli47 spoke of the project's title and its distinctive sound, which will please fans of Santigold and M.I.A. without sounding much like either. "Acrylic is a hard substance and I feel this is one of my harder records to date. It speaks to how hard times don't break you, they make you. We have this saying that when you smell acrylic, you know just where you are." Listen to Acrylic below.
