Pistol Annies — the country music supergroup of Miranda Lambert, Angaleena Presley, and Ashley Monroe — will release their new album, Interstate Gospel, on November 2, and today The FADER is debuting the live video for its title track.
Interstate Gospel is Pistol Annies’s third album and their first in five years. In a joint quote, the band explained: “Between the three of us, we have so many journeys that we’ve been on, and we all travel for a living. Interstate Gospel literally captures the emotional journey, as well as the journey of traveling on the road. When Angaleena came with the title, it just felt right, because it felt like what we were doing was preaching the truth.”
The title track is a simple, uplifting message (“If you're runnin' on empty fuel up on faith / Even ol’ Moses was a basket case”) that ends — thank God — with beautiful harmonizing. It’s far more demure than the lead single “Got My Name Changed Back,” with Lambert singing the proud divorce line I broke his heart and I took his money. Such an amazing group, and a blessing they got the band back together.
