Jonah Hill has run the gamut of acting roles since he first broke onto the scene with the Judd Apatow crew of Seth Rogen, Paul Rudd, and more in 2005. After becoming a critical darling with meatier roles like 2011's Moneyball, Hill is about to deliver his directorial debut, the skateboarding coming of age film Mid90s.
The FADER visited indie studio A24's office and spoke to Hill about obtaining the perfect songs for each scene, his love of digging for samples, and the awkwardness of explaining hip-hop to an older generation.
Mid90s is in theaters with a limited release on Friday and hits nationwide on October 26.
