On Thursday it was reported that Amerie would end a two year break with no music by releasing a new album. In fact, it turns out there are two new Amerie projects to enjoy today. You can stream 4AM Mulholland and After 4AM below. The double release represents Amerie's first album release since 2009 and her first project since 2016 EP Drive.
Speaking to Billboard about her new music, Amerie explained why she doubled up on the new releases. "I love my projects to be very sonically cohesive," she said. "As I was recording, I wasn't trying to limit myself in any way, I was feeling very, very creative -- I had just came off of writing a new story and I wanted to go full-out into the recording process. I didn't want the album to be a smorgasbord of sound, it needs to have a vibe and that's why there's two projects."
