Get cozy to Samaria’s “Shy Girl”

Samaria is a 22-year-old R&B vocalist and songwriter from Oakland who captured our hearts with “Love Me Crazy,” her 2016 duet with Kehlani. Today, we're premiering “Shy Girl,” her followup to her major label debut single “Foolish.” It's a warm ballad with a super clever interpolation of Biz Markie's "Just a Friend."

In an email to The FADER, Samaria explained the song's kinda messy roots. “I once lead someone on in fear of losing them forever. Unfortunately for me, karma didn’t skip a beat.”
