Get out of bed! Eat breakfast! Get out of the house! Put on L.A. songmaker Harriet Brown's new single while you do it! Aptly titled "Shower Up, Saddle Up," the motivational funk track is our latest taste from Brown's upcoming album Mall of Fortune, which will be released on L.A. label Innovative Leisure. It's all squiggly synths, a heavy bass-line, and a mantra-like hook that I will most definitely be uttering to myself in the mornings to come.
Of the song, Brown explained further over email: "This song is just me telling myself, 'Don’t be ashamed, don’t worry about what’s going on in other people’s minds, shed your inhibitions, shower up, saddle up, get out of your head, get out of the house, get out into the night, be 100% you. Take a break from your paranoid self-reflection and dance.’" So Shower up! Saddle up! And have yourself a nice day.
