J. Cole’s Dreamville Festival has been cancelled due to Hurricane Florence
“We’re working to get another date, but right now safety is most important.”
J. Cole's inaugural Dreamville Festival was supposed to go down this weekend in Raleigh, NC. Sadly, the event has been cancelled in the wake of Hurricane Florence, the category 4 storm that's inching its way toward the state's coastline.
"Our team has been working tirelessly with officials from the City of Raleigh, along with our State and Federal Partners, among others, to monitor the potential negative impact of Hurricane Florence," the organizers say in a press release. "With the current weather-related information at hand, we have together decided to cancel this year’s event for the ultimate safety of both the local citizens and festival attendees."
Dreamville Festival was due to feature each of the artists on the label's roster, as well as performances from SZA, Teyana Taylor and Young Thug. "We’re working to get another date, but right now safety is most important," J. Cole tweeted Monday evening. "I appreciate everybody that was headed to rock with us."
