Clairo joins the Skate Kitchen crew in her video for “Heaven”

Skate Kitchen, a film that follows an NYC-based all-girl skate crew of the same name, was released a month ago to really good reviews. Today, the film shares the first song and accompanying video from its soundtrack: Clairo's "Heaven." It is a sweet, dreamy ballad that packs a big punch of teenage longing. I say that because in the accompanying video, the pop singer looks wistfully on at the skateboarders before giving it a go herself alongside the Skate Kitchen cast. Watching it all unfold, the initial shyness and then the warm embrace, brings back awkward childhood memories of social interactions that are both welcome and...not. Needless to say, Clairo handles it all better than I did.
