The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office asked a judge on August 3 to sentence Daniel Hernandez a.k.a. 6ix9ine to 1-3 years in state prision, and require the rapper to register as a sex offender, according to filings viewed by Pitchfork. The request comes after Hernandez was arrested in July for allegedly choking a 16-year-old fan in J.F.K. Airport. The rapper's sentence will be handed down on October 2.
Hernandez pled guilty in October 2015 to a charge of use of a child in a sexual performance – details on the case which contradicted the rapper's statements were revealed in December 2017. Before the July arrest, he was arrested in May for allegedly assaulting a police officer and driving with a suspended license.
