Santigold announces surprise project I Don’t Want: The Gold Fire Sessions

Groundbreaking hybrid pop artist Santigold will return on July 27 with I Don’t Want: The Gold Fire Sessions, a project announced just one day before its release. The dancehall “mixtape-style album” was recorded with Dre Skull of Mixpak Records. Listen to its debut single "Run The Road" above.

Speaking with Pitchfork, Santigold describes frequent visits to Jamaica as a child and teenager, and how the country "felt like a second home for me." Her interest in Jamaican music and dancehall continued during her music studies at Wesleyan.

Santigold's third album 99¢ was released in 2016.
