10 minute Instagram videos are here

Instagram has launched IGTV, a mobile-centric vertical video platform. It is both a standalone app and a tab inside the current Instagram platform, The Verge reports.

IGTV will allow all users to create videos up to ten minutes in length. Accounts with a large following will be able to post hour-long videos. Eventually, all users will be able to upload videos of any length, Instagram CEO Kevin Systrom said on Wednesday. The company also announced that it has amassed 1 billion users.

IGTV will be available on iOS and Android "within the next day."
